Certificates and how to verify them

ShipOutfit is a supplier, not a manufacturer. Every certified product we quote is made by a factory that holds the approval for that exact model, and it ships with that factory's certificates. The quotation tells you the manufacturer, model and certificate number, so you can verify the approval with the class society before you order.

Our rules

  • We only quote models whose certificate we have checked on the class society's or notified body's website
  • We never put our own brand or marking on certified products
  • Certificate numbers are written in every quotation
  • Every order is screened against UN, US, EU and UK sanctions lists by vessel IMO number, owner and destination

Frequently asked questions

Whose name is on the certificate?

The manufacturer's. Type approval and MED certificates are issued to the factory that makes the product. As the supplier, we provide the certificate copy and the product's individual certificate or Declaration of Conformity with each delivery.

Can I verify a certificate before ordering?

Yes. Our quotation lists the manufacturer, model and certificate number. Look it up on the class society's website, for example DNV Approval Finder (approvalfinder.dnv.com), or ask the class society directly.

Do you relabel products under your own brand?

No. Certified products keep the manufacturer's marking and certificates. Relabelling would break the link between the product and its approval.
